Ralph M. Rivera, President And Development Director

Ralph M. Rivera, Rahvalor Interactive’s co-founder, is a web developer who has been in the business of marketing, media, and technology for nearly two decades. Ralph began his career in visual effects for feature films and corporate media.

As the 90's began and the Internet evolved, emerging technology led Ralph from New York to New Jersey to work for New Jersey Press and Broadcast where he was a senior member of the team responsible for adapting their traditional media properties to the internet (The Asbury Park Press, The Home News and Tribune, New Jersey 101.5 FM, etc.). While working for NJP&B, Ralph became a founding member of New Jersey's first Internet Service Provider and one of New Jersey's first web development agencies.

After both properties gained value and were purchased by Gannett, Ralph moved on to act as Vice President of a small production boutique in New Jersey, but as the 90's drew to a close, Ralph knew that his true passion lay in bringing the benefits of the web and technology to small businesses shut out by the expense of doing business with large New York City area agencies.

In 1999, he co-founded Rahvalor Interactive with his wife Carol Lynn Rivera. As Lead Developer at Rahvalor Interactive and a Microsoft Certified Professional, he oversees Rahvalor's team of programmers and developers. His strategic thinking and immersion in technology make him an expert consultant for businesses looking to maximize the potential of the internet.

He is also an educator, teaching web development at the college level in New York City.

Fun Facts About Ralph

• Ralph studied film and broadcast in New York City and began his career in feature film visual effects and corporate media presentations.
• The first feature film that Ralph worked on was Ang Lee's (of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", "Hulk", and "Brokeback Mountain" fame) first feature film "Pushing Hands".
• The first feature film that Ralph developed visual effects for was "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective".
• Ralph's first full time job in New York City was as Project Manager of a communications firm developing media-rich presentations for medium to large sized corporations.
• Many of Ralph's productions have received awards such as the "Videographer Award", the "Flame Award", the "Telly Award", and the "New Media Invision Award".

Carol Lynn Rivera, Project Manager And SEO Consultant

Carol Lynn Rivera began her career as an educator and program developer for several private schools in New York and New Jersey. With a dual degree in Psychology and Education and a master's in Education, she was responsible for the management and development of curriculum, as well as the education of both the children and parents under her care.

In 1999, when she and husband Ralph Rivera founded Rahvalor Interactive, she shifted her focus from the psychology of education to the psychology of marketing.

As part of her role as a principal of Rahvalor Interactive, she continued her education by studying the Project Management Institute's (PMI) guidelines and strategies for effective project management under PMI certified trainers. Carol Lynn's managerial skills developed during more than a decade of education and program development fit perfectly into the role of project manager and customer liaison. As project manager, she has supervised small and medium sized projects, as well as large-scale projects with multiple media deployments (e.g. Web, CD, Print) requiring the coordination of multiple vendors.

Carol Lynn has also received formal training in search marketing and optimization. She remains committed to staying on top of the constantly changing search industry and is currently on a path to become certified by Google as an AdWords Advertising Professional. Today Carol Lynn manages search marketing programs for some customers, and trains others on how to manage and maintain their own search marketing efforts. In this role she also provides search friendly copywriting and editing services for advertising agencies and their clients.

Fun Facts About Carol Lynn

• Despite her formal training by PMI, Carol Lynn refuses to use project management jargon such as "phase gates".
• Carol Lynn, like many project managers, is the unsung hero of many of the awards won by Rahvalor Interactive.
• One of Carol Lynn's first project management initiatives was overseeing the production and publication of tens of thousands of CD-ROM retail advertising portfolios for global electronic manufacturer Sony.
• During one project, which was plagued by unforeseen problems (unusually hot temperatures and humidity caused thousands of print pieces to melt and stick together), Carol Lynn was able to turn the project around and earn Rahvalor Interactive a Print Media Distinction award from the International Academy of the Visual Arts, proving definitely that strong project management can make any project a success.
