What is a digital presentation?
You’ve seen them everywhere. They run in endless loops at trade shows and commercial events. They’re shown on laptops at corporate meetings. You may even have gotten one in your mailbox.
They’re digital presentations and they run the gamut from high-concept advertising to slide-show versions of print brochures. Every time you turn around it seems like someone is handing you a “free demo CD”. More and more, people are using digital presentations as a way to market an idea, promote their company or to aid in otherwise non-digital tasks such as training and support programs.
What’s involved in designing a digital presentation?
We’re not talking about a PowerPoint presentation that comes from a prepackaged template and that your niece can do in her basement on a Friday evening. We’re talking about completely custom designed presentations for your organization. At Rahvalor Interactive we walk you through every step of the process, from concept development right to the finished product.
The services that we offer include…
- Conceptualization, setting goals and project planning
- Evaluation of software and hardware requirements
- Content development, copywriting and scriptwriting
- Interface design
- Graphics, video and animation development
- Voiceover and music selection and production
- Programming
- Design of collateral materials, such as CD jackets and inserts or instructional booklets
The bells and whistles
The beauty of the digital presentation is that it can encompass so many creative aspects that it’s only a matter of setting limits. A digital presentation is a versatile way to market your company, get your ideas across and organize your corporate materials into a complete package. Whether you want it on CD, DVD, video or as a digital file, we can create a unique, custom-designed presentation for your organization with all or any of the following features:
- Sound. Voiceover, narration, music, sound effects… all of these things add to the value of a digital presentation. We can develop these for you or incorporate sound materials that you may already have. Our music and sound effects can be stock sounds or completely custom depending on your needs.
Why might you use sound? To give instructions. To narrate a scene. To add to the reality of a scene… imagine a waterfall rushing over the rocks to complete silence. Not quite as much fun, is it? You might want music to use as filler or to add to the mood. Our designers can help you decide what kinds of sounds to use and when to use them for a presentation that grabs the viewer’s attention and gets your message heard.
- Animation. Sometimes you want a presentation that runs like a “slide show” – a series of still shots that may snap from one to the next or simply fade in as another fades out. Other times you might want to add to your presentation by incorporating animated sequences. We can develop animations that range from the simple – imagine the bars of a graph elongating to show change – to the complex – imagine reconstructing an entire city in digital form and showing buildings being torn down and rebuilt over time.
Animations can be used throughout your presentation or in a few select spots. You may want introductory and closing animations to punctuate an otherwise still presentation. An animated logo sequence is another unique way to present your company. Whatever your needs, we can help you design and develop a presentation that is right for your audience and your message.
- Video or still photography. Much like animations, video and photogaphy can be interspersed throughout your presentation to add impact or convey a message. We can produce custom video and photography for you or incorporate stock materials or materials that you may already have.
Interactive vs. Self Running
Your presentation can be one or the other or both, depending on what you intend to use it for. A self-running presentation might be useful if you want a CD that you can pop in at the next trade show so that your ten-minute message can loop over the course of an eight hour show. An interactive presentation would be more appropriate for training or education. Sometimes you want the flexibility to allow the presentation to run a loop, but also be interactive if a viewer wishes to become involved. Whatever your needs, we can develop a presentation that fits.
The bottom line: because you want your presentation to talk, sing and dance, too
Since there are so many options and so many varieties of presentations, planning yours is a matter of determining goals, setting budget and ultimately finding a style that fits. Whether you use custom or stock photography, include narration or text frames, design an intricate user menu or a basic self-running loop… these and more will affect the bottom line. Whatever your needs, a presentation can be tailored to work for you business goals.
